About the Event

Are you ready to take your painting skills to the next level? Then this is the class for you! In level 2 of this 3 hour in-person class, your instructor, Mary Lehner, an award winning artist, will help you grow as an artist and expand your skills. Basic watercolor painting skills are required for this class so that you can keep up with the other students.

Here is what she will be teaching:

  1. How to paint from a photo or still life
  2. The importance of layering paints to keep colors fresh
  3. The use of light, shadows, color reflection and composition to learn to paint in a visually expressive and interpretive style

Introductory Price $55 - To save your place in the class, a $20 non-refundable deposit is due at registration.

Package rates of 5 are available for $250. All classes must be purchased in advance and at the same time.

There is a 6 person max per class.

Supplies to bring:

  • Any pencil
  • Kneaded eraser
  • Sketch pad
  • Liquid Frisket
  • Liquid Frisket remover
  • Brush holder
  • Arches 140lb cold press or similar - ½ sheet at the largest

Watercolor Paint Set:

  • Set of watercolor paint tubes in 18 or 24 colors
  • Or artist recommended brands for individual tubes. Winsor & Newton, Daniel Smith, M.Graham, Holbein

Watercolor Brushes:

  • Flat

           ¼ inch

            ¾ inch

  • Round Sable

  • Script

            #0-1 (can be inexpensive brand)

  • Mop

¾ inch mop or 1 inch

Recommended brush brands: Connoisseur, Kolinsky Sable, Princeton Art, Winsor & Newton Cotman Series, SOHO
